I am here in the hospital now waiting to hold my sweet baby again. It has been over a week since the last time. He is 4 weeks old today. He weighs 2 lbs. 13 oz. He is getting big! He is still fighting off the pneumonia, but x-rays show that his lungs are looking better. He is still on the ventilator, and after talking to the Dr. today, it looks like it may be for another week. He will slowly get back up to where he needs to be and continue to get bigger and stronger. He is so sweet and cute. He is a Timothy!

Jaxen has moved off from the ventilator, off from the C-pap, and is now getting his oxygen from a high pressured nasal canulla. He is doing very well with his oxygen levels. He has gained some weight and is now back up to 2 lbs. They are still watching his tummy. Can't seem to figure out what is wrong with it. Just doesn't seem right. Fills up with a lot of air and you can see bowel loops. (which is not a good thing) They had to stop feedings and do a few tests to make sure his bowels inside are doing what they are supposed to be doing. No kinks or narrowing of the bowels. Hope they will be able to find out soon so he can start eating again.

Smaill Wonder

I was able to hold my baby for the first time today...he is a week old. Words can't explain what I felt when I was able to hold him in my arms. His tiny body resting against mine was so calming and brought so much peace. I didn't want to leave. I only had an hour. Best hour ever.

Small Glimpes of Jaxen

Miracle

Big day for Mom too!

I had a good day too! I was able to change Jaxen's diaper and take his temperature. I was so nervous to touch him, he is so tiny and fragile. I was able to see his eyes for the first time, and heard his first sweet little sounds. Amazing.

I had a good day too! I changed Jaxen's diaper and checked his temperature. I was so nervous touching him. So tiny. I even heard him for the first time. Soft, little whimpers came from his home, as the nurses repositioned him in his bed. Amazing and precious.

C-PAP

Jaxen had a big day yesterday! He was taken off his ventilator and put onto a c-pap. He has been handling his feedings well. They have gone from every six hours to three hours. We still need to watch him, they say preemies are kind of touchy with their stomachs. The fluid has gone down so he's not puffy. He looks good.
